Prophets?
Dr. Ward 18/12/2009 10:58:02 PM
You know, it just amazes me today, how many people are calling themselves "prophets" these days. I think we have forgotten that suffering is the way, and that all that live godly, shall suffer. If you are not going through something, something is wrong. We are going to go through, so we have to stay in a seeking state. You know, persecution hits the church when we get relaxed, sloppy, lazy. ineffective, and good for nothing. Persecution always hit to spread the gospel.

You don't just get up one day and call yourself a prophet. God appoints you, and man affirms you. There are too many young men and women raising up and calling themselves prophets, when they themselves have not been fathered or mothered to the point where they are able to handle the warfare that comes along with it. We have seen where God has taken great prophets like Juanita Bynum and Todd Hall and we want the glitz, but we don't want the walk. We want the reward, but not the suffering. Persecution births in us a spirit of humility, obedience, and patience. It also gives us the viable, authentic anointing, that is transferable to the next generation. I am afraid that this new generation of young preachers who have been raised up on this prosperity gospel don't know what suffering, anointing, or impartation is. If they did, they would respect those who came before them and submit to the anointing before trying to start up ministries. This is a life and death ordeal. Ministry is bringing life or death, and if you are not ready, it could kill you.

Be encouraged, because judgement and persecution hits the church this year, to the end that it causes us to mature and spread the gospel. No more cookie and candy gospel.
